HydroHoist Boat Lifts celebrated its 17th year of awarding scholarships to the Marina Association of Texas at its 35th Annual Conference. Whitney Bosworth, who attends the University of Texas, and Jennifer King who attends Wayland Baptist University have each been awarded $500 scholarships for the fall term. With continued good grades, they will be eligible to receive another $500 scholarship in the spring.The Marina Association of Texas is proud to salute these hard workers as well as HydroHoist for this outstanding service and opportunity!

National HydroHoist® Company, Inc. is sponsoring a tuition and books scholarship in the amount of $500.00 per semester for the son or daughter of a marina owner and/or manager who is an active member in good standing with the Marina Association of Texas. HydroHoist® is setting aside $15,000.00 dedicated for this scholarship fund.

The scholarship will be funded by check made directly to the educational institution upon award. 

Qualifications for applicants are: 

  • Student must be enrolled in a college or university, with proof of enrollment attached to the application.

  • Student must be the son or daughter of a marina owner or manager who is an active member of M.A.T.

  • Student must apply for the scholarship on or before September 1 of the current year.

  • Student must be enrolled in business, marine, or engineering curriculum

  • Student must have carried a 3.0 or better grade average in high school if a freshman, or 3.0 or better in their last semester of college.

  • Student must write a letter of application stating his or her interests in their future and education, and a brief statement of why they feel they should receive the award.

The award will be broken into two equal amounts, with one payment for the first semester and another for the second semester. Student must provide a copy of their transcript and semester enrollment, and continue to meet the above criteria for the second semester payment. A student may re-apply for more than one year.

If the student does not qualify for the second semester renewal of the award, the money will be placed back into the fund for future use. The award is for upper and lower classmen, regardless of age. The student who receives the award is requested to attend the M.A.T. meeting of the school year given. The decision on who receives the award will be at the sole discretion of the staff and management of National Hydrohoist® Co. Inc. If no one is considered a suitable candidate during any given application period, or no one applies for the award, monies set aside will be returned to the fund.

HydroHoist® presents two scholarships semi-annually with two awards in August for the fall semester and a second semester review in December. Notification of the award will be made directly to the student with formal notification at the annual M.A.T. meeting. All names and information submitted for consideration for the award will be held in confidence, and not released to any other individual or entity.
